Hannah Wroe Gill – about me
Before becoming a Celebrant I was a secondary English teacher for over a decade, ultimately as a Head of Department in Suffolk. Relocating to live with my husband in West Yorkshire, I found myself ready for a new challenge. By chance, I was then introduced to the idea of training to be a humanist Celebrant.
Everything changed from there: timetables, bells and piles of marking one minute; ceremonies, writing for a living and the steep learning curve of self-employment the next. Completely different worlds, but thankfully a host of transferable skills.
Since starting life as a humanist ceremony business in 2010, Your Three Days has flourished, and as a result of so many clients falling in love with the unique creative method, expanded. I don’t rest on my laurels though, far from it. I want to make every client’s experience the best it can be, trying to go above and beyond in everything I do.
Creating beautiful humanist ceremonies will always be the core of my business. However, now my consultancy service and ‘Portraits in Prose’ Commissions have opened up my bespoke writing to a whole new audience, unrestricted by geography or my availability on a certain day. I’m now working with individuals, couples and families all over the UK as well as many clients based overseas. I may never meet them, but still have the privilege and pleasure of creating beautiful writing with them that celebrates the landmarks of their lives.
This is my passion as well as my ‘job’. I cannot imagine a better working life.
